In the middle of the first world war, Portland’s Rose Society decided to start growing European Roses that may be lost in the destruction of the World War I, and over the years the amazing garden continued to grow larger. Today this beautiful garden is even more impressive than when it was first constructed. This beautiful rose garden is open daily sun up to sun down. From April through October is when the roses are in bloom. June is the best month to visit the garden. The garden is also a famous place for popping the big question, so if you are looking for that perfect spot to ask someone to marry you, then The International Rose Test Garden might be that memorable location you are looking for!

While in Portland, grab a jalapeno beer at Rogue Brewery, enjoy the city skyline by eating at City Grill, and watch The Portland Timbers (2015 MLS Champs) play! All of this is within walking distance of the Rose Garden.
